Independent Living Services
The heart of Stavros is our Independent Living Services Department. Almost all of the Independent Living staff are individuals with disabilities, so we understand where you are coming from. Advocate/Peer Counselors visit consumers either at their homes, in the community or at the office.
We help people find the information they need to make good decisions, and we offer tips for acquiring the resources you need for living independently. Whether it is peer counseling, skills training, individual advocacy or service coordination, our advocates help you learn how to survive, whether your disability is from birth, the result of aging, or newly-acquired.
To get in touch with us, call 800 804 1899 and ask for help from an advocate. If your question is a simple one, we might be able to answer it right away, or tell you where to find that information. If it needs a little more research, our Information and Referral Department may be able to help. If your problem is more complex, an advocate will be assigned to help you.
