LifePath's Farm to Home Program Franklin County
LifePath is excited to share information about their new The Farm to Home Food Program. They have received a grant to fund the delivery of free, farm fresh produce, meats and dairy products valued at approximately $50 per month to older adults and adults living with disabilities. They have partnered with Mass Food Delivery who sources their foods from local farms in the region. They will process the orders, box and deliver a monthly box of fresh foods to each individual’s door. No address will be exempt, no matter how remote the location.
They are identifying individuals in our community who are facing food insecurity and who could benefit from this program. In order to equitably distribute the food across the region, they have considered the town’s population and income levels in determining how many slots will be available in each town. They anticipate being able to serve a total of 400 individuals and we have available most of the slots designated to Leverett residents that they would love to see filled, especially during the height of the growing season. They are particularly interested in reaching individuals who are experiencing difficulty getting to other food distribution sites or who may be experiencing food insecurity for other reasons.
They are also in the process of recruiting volunteers to be paired with enrollees who may not have access to a computer or the internet for the purpose of placing the monthly on-line food orders. If you are interested or know of anyone who would like to be part of this program as a volunteer, they'd love to hear from you. Volunteers can do this work from the comfort of their homes as long as they have internet access and a phone. Applicants can call 877-590-2540, and leave a message on our dedicated LifePath phone line. An enrollment specialist will contact the applicant and assist with the enrollment process. Alternatively, the referral can be completed digitally by by submitting the online form, downloading the attached referral form and emailing it back to us at mjohnson@lifepathma.org, or by printing a copy and returning it to us by fax or mail.
