The CPR and the Mass. Senior Action Elders Counsel filed a class-action law suit
The Center for Public Representation (CPR) struck a blow for all people with disabilities who are unnecessarily kept people in nursing homes

The Center for Public Representation (CPR) struck a blow for all people with disabilities who are unnecessarily kept people in nursing homes. Since the Covid epidemic began, the public (particularly disability advocates) experienced the problems. The public was also made aware of the huge amounts of deaths of elders in nursing homes. At one point the death rate was as high as 66%. Black and brown elders with disabilities included the majority of this percentage.
The CPR and the Mass. Senior Action Elders Counsel filed a class-action law suit (one of the first in the country) to provide elders with disabilities in nursing homes an opportunity to be provided integrated residential settings allowing them to live full and productive lives. On behalf of disability advocates at Stavros we send a huge “Well Done”! for solving a horrendous injustice .
