Local Woman Athlete to go to China

Michelle Gallien will represent the US at the Special Olympic World Games in China in October, 2007. Friends and family are currently planning a fundraiser on Friday, April 6th at the Athol/Orange Elks. Please stop by and join us for great music and a good time. Exact time and suggested donations not settled yet; it will be posted as soon as that info becomes available. Currently, Michelle's goal is to raise $3,000 to cover travel and lodging costs..

CRF Grant for Stavros

Stavros' Home Sweet Home Program has received a $4000 "Quality of Life" grant from the Christopher Reeve Foundation (CRF). The grant will be used to help pay for materials to build wheelchair ramps at the homes of 2 individuals with disabilities in Stavros' service area (Hampden, Hampshire & Franklin counties). The CRF was formed in 1999 by Dana Reeve, Christopher's wife, as a way for the CRF to reach out and have a direct impact in improving the lives of those living with paralysis.

Inglis House Poetry Workshp

The Inglis House Poetry Workshop is a collaboration of writers who reside at Inglis House. The workshop meets weekly for the purpose of sharing and critiquing poetry and other original writing. Although all workshop members share the common bond of being in wheel chairs, the writing produced represents a great diversity of interest and style.
