MassHealth EVV Listening Sessions
MassHealth will be holding 3 virtual/telephonic opportunities for consumers and PCA’s to provide their feedback on 2 matters that will affect the fiscal (payroll) task conducted for the PCA program. 1.) Implementation of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) 2.) the selection of only one Fiscal Intermediary Provider (FI) for the whole state.
These dates will be Monday, September 21st 10 am-12:30 pm, Wednesday, September 23rd 12 pm -2:30 pm, and Friday, October 2nd, 1 pm- 3:30 pm. October 2nd will be the only session that will be captioned in Spanish).
MassHealth is currently proposing the Fiscal Intermediary (FI) Services that are currently provided by 3 separate FI entities to all PCA program consumers be provided by only one FI entity. What does this mean for you? It means you will no longer have a choice of who oversees the fiscal task that processes consumer enrollments and the payroll for PCAs. If you have a grievance with your FI there will be no choice to select a different provider. It could also mean that depending on where the FI entity selected is located, you may no longer have in person access to your FI. MassHealth is also requiring that the entity selected implement the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system which is expected to be rolled out January of 2022. EVV is check in/check out verification system done through a mobile device or a computer. PCA’s will be required to use an EVV application to check in/out of locations after services performed for the consumer.
