Parents with kids with disabilities
Stavros is reaching out to all about our consumers to contact your representatives and senators to protect the rights of parents with children with disabilities.
Ask your representatives and senators to vote for.H.1711/S.1083:
“An Act prohibiting discrimination against adults with disabilities in Family and Juvenile Court proceedings”.
The US Departments of Justice and Health and Human Services entered into a settlement agreement with Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF) to address disability discrimination.
Abuse of the elders in nursing homes
Most of us have heard horrible stories about elders being physically and sexually abused in nursing homes. The Atty. Gen.’s office wants to make the perpetrators pay for these heinous crimes! Below you will see additional fines for criminals who abuse elders in nursing homes. In addition we have attached testimony in support of this bill.
Asset Recovery Program
Dear colleagues,
I’m writing to bring you up to date on the Estate Recovery bills. First, thanks to all of you who reached out to your state representatives and senators in support of both bills when they were in the Joint Committee on Healthcare Financing.
Our combined efforts paid off and both bills were merged and reported out favorably to House Ways and Means. You can find a quick link here.
The Springfield Museums present Sensory Friendly Saturdays
The Springfield Museums present Sensory Friendly Saturdays, the second Saturday of each month, 9 am to 11 am, starting May 8.
Sensory Friendly Saturdays provide less noise, less bright light, and cool-down spaces for those who have sensory sensitivity.
Human Service Transportation Virtual Public Listening Sessions
MassHealth members and other consumers who have used PT-1 or other Human Service Transportation since July 1, 2021 are invited to share their feedback at an upcoming virtual public listening session.
